THANK YOU:

The Foundation and the Washington 1753 Committee would like to give a special "Thank You" to Beaver County Commissioners: Dan Donatella, Charles Camp and James Albert, and also Larry Souleret of Lennon, Smith & Souleret Engineering, Inc.,  the living history community, and all of those selfless volunteers and committee members without whose "sweat and blood" this event would never have been possible.

Images From "Washington at Logstown 1753"

In order to commemorate the 250th anniversary of young Major George Washington's 1753 visit to the important Indian village of Logstown in Beaver County, a full-scale re-creation of Washington's visit is scheduled for October 18 & 19, 2003.  Visitors were able to walk back in time to enjoy a working 1750's era Native American village and witness the visit of Major Washington as he and his men meet with with the important  Indian leaders of that time.

Demonstrations included: Quill work, leather work, weaving, cooking, bead work, log cabin construction, fire starting and corn grinding.
